  4. The IBM Proprinter (4201), is a serial dot matrix printer for attachment
  5. to the IBM PC, PCjr, PC XT, Personal Computer AT, PC Portable, 3270-PC
  6. (Release 1.2 and up), 3270-PC/G, 3270  PC/GX, PS/2-family IBM Series/1
  7. System 5170 Model 495, and suitably equipped and programmed non-IBM
  8. personal computers.  The IBM Proprinter adds high speed, desktop printing
  9. to the IBM Personal Computer family.  Continuous forms paper handling
  10. and manual front sheet feed are integrated into the Proprinter.  The
  11. printer is capable of handling downloadable print fonts and offers as
  12. standard a PC compatible parallel interface. An optional asynchronous
  13. serial interface is planned for availability in the fourth quarter of
  14. 1985. A 5K Print Buffer option is also planned at that time.

  126. Differences from the IBM Proprinter Model 001 include the following:
  127. 1.  The IBM Proprinter II supports three additional escape command
  128.     functions, namely the capability to set left and right margins,
  129.     select double high print mode, and select proportional character
  130.     spacing.  These functions are the same as offered with the
  131.     Proprinter XL.

  133. 2.  The IBM Proprinter II offers two near letter quality fonts.  The
  134.     "correspondence" matrix quality font that is available with the IBM

  168. The IBM 4201 Proprinter(R) III is a functionally enhanced companion to
  169. the IBM Proprinter family. Enhancements include increased print speed
  170. (320  cps Fastfont(TM), 270 cps burst speed in 10 cpi draft mode, and
  171. 65 cps near-letter-quality), increased throughput, a new Italics NLQ II
  172. font and Propark: the easy-to-use, one touch paper parking function.

  174. Feed, a new 32K Print Buffer and a new RS-232/RS-422 Serial Interface.
